HowTo - Discover Asset ID # of device

HowTo - Discover Asset ID # of device

Method 1: Physical BTAA Asset Tag

BTAA Asset Tags are on all equipment purchased with a value over $500. If your item was originally bought below $500 it most likely isn't tagged.
  1. You can usually find Asset Tags in these locations (examples below):
    1. For a Desktop/Tower, on the top of it.
    2. For a Laptop, on the bottom of it.
  2.  Sometimes though, the asset tag is located elsewhere so please check all sides of the machine or email it@btaa.org for help.

Examples

Desktop:

Laptop:

Method 2: PC Name (on Windows computer)

All BTAA computers are named after the Asset ID # found on the asset tag. If you couldn't find the tag or couldn't move your device to find it, you can use this alternative method.

1. In the Windows search bar, type "PC Name"
2. Select "View your PC Name" from the search results

3. Find the device name. (It should have a naming convention that looks like BTAA-####).
  1. This is the Asset ID #. Record this number or submit it via form accordingly.
